CRM developers use CRM (customer relationship management) tools to make a business’s customer-related functions run more smoothly. Using CRM tools and modules, they typically work to centralize customers’ information, analyze data, automate marketing interactions, and enable responsive customer service. Familiarity with Microsoft software and several application programs are generally required, as is a thorough understanding of industry standards for CRM practices.
CRM developers must be able to troubleshoot deployment problems, and strong communication and interpersonal skills are beneficial in this position. They must understand all technical and functional requirements of assigned projects and be able to customize and/or extend the CRM software package to meet the needs of their organizations’ internal or external clients. They must also define and understand operational, technical, and user requirements and develop technical specifications. They should be able to resolve customers’ problems in a timely and professional manner, and some evening or weekend work may occasionally be necessary to meet project deadlines.
